Design a Search Autocomplete System is a medium system design interview question covering trie, caching, prefix search, ranking — the kind asked at FAANG (Facebook/Meta, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google) and AI-first companies like Anthropic, OpenAI, and Nvidia.
Design a real-time search autocomplete system. When a user types in a search box, the system should suggest relevant completions within milliseconds.
