Master System Design.
Ace the Coding Round.
Interview prep for every software engineer — whether you're targeting a startup, Microsoft, Uber, or the top of big tech. Built on the interview patterns these companies actually use.
Crack FAANG · Conquer the AI frontier — Google, Meta, Amazon, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Nvidia are our specialty.
These questions come from real interview loops at Meta, Google, Amazon, Anthropic, and more — plus patterns pulled from Microsoft, Uber, Airbnb, Netflix, LinkedIn, Slack, and Twitter/X. If your target company runs a FAANG-style interview, this content applies to you too.
Valid Palindrome
Given a string s, return true if it is a palindrome considering only alphanumeric characters and ignoring case. Example: "A man, a plan, a canal: Panama" -> true; "race a car" -> false.
5 rapid-fire interview MCQs

Take today's quiz →Know what to do each week
The Study Plan puts the site's questions, guides, quizzes and tools in order for a specific interview loop — 6 weeks, about 30 hours, easiest first. Week one is free with no account, progress is worked out from what you have already done, and “I interview in N weeks” compresses it to fit.
First plan: Software Engineer. More roles follow.

Other platforms prep you for 2018-era interviews. We prep you for what top tech companies are actually asking in 2026.
System Design Deep Dives
Most requestedThe #1 gap in most interview prep. Distributed systems, scalability, databases, ML pipelines — the way interviewers at Google, Meta, and Anthropic actually test them.
Real Interview Patterns
Authentic formatEvery question is modeled on how Google, Meta, Anthropic, and other elite companies actually run their interview loops — vague briefs, clarifying questions, and follow-up grilling included.
Step-by-Step Visualizations
Rarely found elsewhereWatch arrays, stacks, hash maps and binary trees update live as an algorithm runs — pointers, comparisons, and state changes rendered visually, not buried in a wall of code. Most interview prep platforms don't have this.

Your data structure, drawn at every step
Coding questions render the array, hash map, stack or binary tree as the algorithm runs — so you can see why a solution works instead of reading that it does. Three of them, caught mid-run.
- Array + hash mapFree
Array [2, 7, 11, 15] target = 9

Level 1: size was 2, so exactly 9 and 20 pop this round — that snapshot is what separates the levels.

Every round of the interview loop
A software, SRE or cloud interview loop is several different rounds, each scored on something else. TierOnePrep has practice for every one of them, and every round has questions you can open free.

Prepare for the loop you're actually in
A cloud architect interview and a software engineering interview share a lot of material and weight it completely differently. Each path says what that loop contains and where it is decided.
Go straight to what you're weakest at

The design round is the hardest part.
We make it learnable.
Most platforms barely scratch the surface. We go deep — distributed systems, consistency vs. availability, sharding, caching layers, and the AI era: LLM inference infrastructure, GPU cluster scheduling, vector databases. The questions that separate L5 from L6 at Google, and Staff from Principal at Anthropic.
And because a cloud architect is not asked to build a database from scratch, cloud architecture is a separate question type — managed-service selection, migration planning, and what running it yourself would really cost you.

Not every question has a system to draw
Cloud, infrastructure and platform loops open with broad questions that have nothing to clarify and no architecture to sketch. They are scored on the shape of your answer — and they are free to practise here.

Every question is an interactive experience
Not a static PDF. Not a wall of text. Pick a question, work it the way you would in the room, then compare your thinking against a detailed model answer. Design questions run as a four-phase walkthrough:
Get the vague interviewer prompt — just like real life.
Discover which clarifying questions actually matter.
Walk through architecture, diagrams, and trade-offs.
Hard follow-up questions with hints and model answers.
Coding questions work attempt-first instead: the problem, a three-step hint ladder you reveal one at a time, and the solution kept out of sight until you ask for it — with the algorithm drawn step by step once you do.
